4 ways the Ideate Labs UX/UI course is UNIQUE

You may have noticed that there are a TON of UX/UI offerings out there. We noticed the same thing when we launched Ideate Labs back in 2020. Knowing that we were entering a crowded space, we put our #designthinking caps on to find our niche and nail our USP. Through numerous exercises, interviews, and of course some good old trial and error, we identified 4 angles that make what we do UNIQUE. Today, our booming community of 25,000+ learners is a testament to the fact that even a seemingly saturated landscape may be ripe for innovation.

Here are 4 ways we made our boot camp stand out from the crowd:

1. We are women-led, women-focused.

Ideate Labs focuses on women, minorities, and POC because the ways we all learn are incredibly different from the status quo. And, the opportunities we can attain come to us in smaller numbers, with more hoops to jump through. Samaya and Khrys created a community designed to be safe, inclusive, and considerate of our learners.

2. We teach the end-to-end process.

We do not expect our students to be generalists— in fact, we advise against it. However, we do split our Course into 2 sections— 2- 6 weeks focused on UX research & strategy, and 6 weeks focused on UX / UI/ visual skills. Our goal is to give all of our students the chance to see ~one~ end-to-end project to understand how the puzzle pieces all connect.

3. When we say personal, we mean it.

Our students get weekly 1:1 mentorship from designers/researchers working in the field. Each learner also has access to niche mentors that are 8+ years into their UX/UI careers and are prepared to teach in-depth about specific areas of design.

4. We’ve got your back — long after the course ends.

With Ideate Labs, you’ve got a support system for life. We’ll work with you 1:1 weekly to finesse your portfolio, resume, and interview skills to get you ready to land your dream job. We share our personal networks, help find jobs for you to apply to, and teach you how to speak to recruiters. Until when? Until you're in a job that is fulfilling, meets your salary expectations, and grows you as a professional. Of course, we’ll keep in touch with more resources, inspiration, and opportunities long after you’ve gotten the job.
